Social Steps was founded in 2016 by Ms Clare Cassar, an Educational Psychologist & Ms Lara Farrugia, an Educational Consultant and Learning Specialist. Both professionals have vast experience in the field of special education and have observed a great need for social skills intervention amongst children and youngsters with diverse needs.

Initially, Social Steps started with The Social Steps Programme, a social skills programme created for the needs of children and youths with High Functioning Autism and Aspergers. However, after the success of such a programme the founders decided to offer other programmes which would support the development of social and emotional learning for all children, youngsters, as well as parents.
